Won a free night rental to La Quinta St. George from a raffle so we figured we would stay there for 3 the 3 nights we already planned on being in St. George for Tuacahn. When we checked in, I showed them the voucher and they said I can only use it if I call in advance and tell them I have it, not if i booked online like I did so I would just have to come back again to use it. What a waste! Nowhere on the voucher did it say anything about having to use it by calling ahead and booking over the phone. I live over 4 hours away, I'm not coming back down again just to use the voucher, especially when i have no confidence you'll actually honor it this time. On top of that, when we laid down to go to bed the first night, there was a massive hair under my pillow that obviously didn't belong to either of us, so that was pretty disgusting.The light didn't work in our room, so we had to just use the lamps. Even if it had worked, the lighting was incredibly poor in the other room, even with all of the lights functioning properly. For a 100% smoke free hotel, we had to turn our air conditioner off (which is no fun when it's 100 degrees outside) because it was sucking in so much smoke from outside (likely from a construction worker, of which there were plenty) that it was hard to even breathe. The TVs in the room were actually quite large, but over 50% of the channels (including free over the air ones) were standard definition so the picture quality was terrible and several inches were cut off from the picture.The free breakfast was actually better than I expected, so that was good. Although only being served from 6 to 9 seemed a bit early for someone trying to sleep in a bit on their vacation.All in all while there were a few good things about it, I would definitely NOT recommend that anyone stay here, especially with their terrible customer service.
I got to say, this hotel is really nice! Breakfast is included, and the staff is very friendly, and courteous. The rooms have always been clean, and we have stayed here twice now, in 2018. Walmart is also across the ways, and there are nearby places to eat, like Cracker Barrel, and others, all within 10 minutes or less. Great place to stay.
I've stayed here multiple times. Pet friendly with no charge, super helpful staff, clean comfortable rooms. Highly recommended, whether travelling with pets or not.
By far the nicest La Quinta we've ever stayed at. Clean and fresh pet room. This location got rid of the carpeting in the pet rooms.....smart!!! Especially liked the lighted mirrors in the bathroom (including a make--up mirror). Friendly helpful staff and a nice breakfast!! Highly recommend!!!
We go to Tuachan every year sometimes twice a year and La Quinta has become a standard for us. The rooms are very clean with modern bathrooms. They are remarkably quiet. The breakfast is always hot, organized,and good tasting. The pool area is small but feels secluded despite the fact that it's right off the freeway. And there rates are reasonable. We get corporate rates and it makes a 4 day stay what a normal 2 day stay would be.
