I love to run on the trail that runs along the Santa Clara River that encircles the park. If you walk south from the park it's about 2 miles to the Tonaquint Park. It's a beautiful walk on a really nice asphalt trail great for walking, running, biking, very wheelchair friendly! This morning I saw these mule deer. It's normal to see all kinds of wildlife like rabbits, ducks, geese, doves, hasks, occasional eagle, fox, coyote and deer.
We come out to St. George twice a year to visit my in-laws. We always go the park and un-wind. Love swinging on the hanging swings they have over looking the park. We walk the trails and watch all the kids and there families having fun. They also have bbq pits to have picnics in. Just a wonderful place, we always look forward to " The Cove ", that's what we call it, and let me tell you, where from South Jersey, it's a pleasure to come here !!
What a hidden treasure! I only discovered this park because of one of the published lists of local parks in St George This is definitely more geared towards the older aged kids but nevertheless it has a great variety of different challenging activities. I also found the little loop around the back of the park to be a great spot for a small nature walk.My only complaint is that it appears to be a little bit of a party spot. There tends to be some scattered trash in the play area quite often, which is a shame.
Also dubbed "the spinning park" due to the many playground toys being able to spin. Includes a nice rock wall for older kids that is discreet enough that my toddlers haven't tried killing themselves on it yet. Only downside is it was built prior to St. George's change toward parks with that new spongy-turf. As a result it had wood chips so be prepared with closed-toe shoes.
This is a terrific park for people of all ages! There are walking trails, clean bathrooms, picnic areas up by the parking and down by the playground, and two nice swings overlooking the park and Santa Clara River. The playground has an area for younger children, while also having neat equipment for older children, with a neat bridge and rock wall they can climb. The walking trail connects to Tonaquint Park to the South. Nice greasy areas where I have seen people do yoga or exercise.
