This museum was fascinating. We'd love to come back at a time when archaeologists are actually working on things. The only issue was that my 5 year old lost interest REALLY quickly. There were some fun activities for her to do, but it was hard to really enjoy the rest of the museum as an adult with her being unentertained. I'd definitely come back in a few years when she is older and can understand/appreciate it more, but I also wouldn't recommend someone with small children coming here if you plan on seeing it in-depth.
Really cool place and a lot to learn. You can tell its kind of geared towards kids, but its still really interesting and educational as an adult. Staff are friendly. And I loved the gift shop. Prices werent as bad Id expect. If youre looking for something kill time and learn some interesting facts about this places history, Id recommend you stop by. And if you do have kids theyll love it too.
I love this place since I was living there about 15 years ago when these discoveries were just beginning and everything was outdoors without a roof and you did not have to pay anything the cost was voluntary. Now I am happy to see how yours have progressed in the discoveries and that it is already a great and very beautiful museum so that we can all enjoy this unique jewels in terms of discovery in ancient animals that existed in this world. Many Congratulations and I hope one day to return to St George to enjoy this beautiful place with my children!!!
This small museum is spectacular! We first happened upon this site months after the first tracks had been discovered and displayed beneath canopies! Id hoped for years theyd raise enough funds to establish a permanent home. They did and we finally returned in 2016 with our 4 year old who was and still is a paleontology enthusiast! Were also planning to include this stop on our Utah paleontology tour next spring! What I love about the Discovery Site is that unlike other museums their specimens are like the actions of ancient life forms fossilized in time. The entrance fees are so inexpensive considering the uniquely incredible experience and education youll get from visiting!
Utah is the land of dinosaur fossils/tracks! The husband and I love dinosaurs and couldn't be happier that there was a museum devoted to them just a few miles from our house. We visited on an early Sunday morning before it got crowded, and we enjoyed walking around looking at the displays. There was also a window where you can look in at the work they are doing with different fossils/tracks that need to be cleaned and restored. The museum was small but very well organized, and there were plenty of signs everywhere. Great place to bring your kids for an educational field trip!
